Underground Railroad Guided Bus Tours
Third Sunday of the month from May through October

Our popular, family-friendly bus tours led by a knowledgeable local guide.
Visit documented Underground Railroad sites, historic homes, and Quaker
meetinghouses while learning about local abolitionists and antislavery activity in the
Kennett Square area. The tour also presents the contributions of local African
Americans and their faith communities in the quest for freedom from slavery.

Time: 2:30 PM–4:30 PM
Please arrive by 2:15 PM for check-in.
Tours take place rain or shine and last approximately 2 hours.
The 24-passenger bus is air-conditioned.

KURC reserves the right to cancel a tour due to insufficient participation. Registrants will be contacted a few days in advance if the tour is canceled, and payments will be refunded.
Brandywine Valley Tourism Information Center
Located across from the entrance gates to Longwood Gardens, this building, which dates from circa 1855, was Longwood Progressive Friends Meetinghouse. The meetinghouse became a beacon to reformers throughout the United States for such movements as abolition, temperance,and women’s rights. Renowned speakers and visitors included Harriet Tubman, FrederickDouglass, Susan B. Anthony, and Sojourner Truth. It is a National Park Service Network to Freedom Site. BrandywineValley.com
Please park in the first row to the right of the building, at the base of the hill. You are welcome to visit inside before or after the tour. The center is open daily 9 AM–5 PM. Explore what Chester County has to offer and speak with the friendly knowledgeable staff. Public restrooms are available.
